Alamae Play & Consulting is designed to support parents and caregivers as they navigate the multi-disciplinary services available upon their child receiving an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis.

We are here to support families for the long haul - develop a short term and long term plan for you and your family, learn how to advocate and utilize resources available, teach caregivers how to promote learning and growth through play, and much more.

Founded by Katelyn Barbuzzi, MS, BCBA, LABA, a mom of 3 (Alfred, Amelia, & Maeve) and BCBA with 12+ years of experience in the ABA field, Alamae Play & Consulting aims to:

  • Act as the backbone for parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children while providing guidance, feedback, and consultation regarding the service delivery ecosystem, while creating a custom plan and path forward that works best for their family

  • Support parents and caregivers in identifying their child’s play skills, play deficits, and areas of development needed

  • Create customized Play Kits based on their current developmental play skills and future growth and development

  • Provide step-by-step guidance on how to teach skills through play with parents, caregivers, siblings, and friends

Personal Support When You Need It

  • Every football team needs a quarterback. You’ve had your initial consultation and you found your family’s QB here at Alamae. Choose between the 6-month and 12-month support bundles to access consistent support through your first year as you tackle & create an individualized support plan that best suits your family.

    Available for more than just meetings, have access to our Resource Libraries in addition to having a trusted partner available to you for questions, support, and the “bring me back to reality” moments that we all need.

  • Looking for weekly support right out of the gate? The Fast Track Bundle is a 3-month intensive support package which includes weekly consultation meetings for your first month, followed by monthly consultation meetings & access to our Resource Libraries and asynchronous communication with BCBA.

  • Maybe you’ve been around the block a few times and don’t want to commit to a consultation package. That’s cool — but creating a custom play kit specific to your child and creating a rich play-based learning environment in your home can go a long way. Choose the play-based learning bundle to receive support for 3 months in which we build custom play kits based on your child’s current play skillset, develop future play kits based on progress, and learn strategies and systems on building a play-based learning environment right under your own roof, without extra people coming in and out of your door to do it.

    It started slowly, and then suddenly it seemed to happen all at once. There were a few things at home that didn’t seem quite right, and then we began seeing struggles in preschool. Before long, it became clear that something was going on.

    Then the questions—and the acronyms—came fast and furious. We needed testing, a diagnosis, speech, language, OT, ABA… What were all these things? Who provides these services? Does the school have our child’s best interests at heart? Where do we start, and who can help us?

    As parents, it was an incredibly overwhelming and confusing time.

    Ten years later, when we look back, we are so grateful that we were introduced to Katelyn. She was an unbelievable resource. She understood what was happening, helped us make sense of it all, and guided us through an incredibly difficult period.
